Leah is the Clinical Director and Intake Coordinator of Calm Gardens Therapy. She graduated with her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a licensed certified professional counselor (LCPC). She works with a wide range of individuals from ages 13 and up. Leah has received training regarding trauma and stress, trauma related EMDR, DBT, & critical incident stress management. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional I & II (CCTP I & II) as well as a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (CASDCS) and oversees the providers with Calm Gardens in applying these approaches in their own clinical work.
She is fluent in conversational American Sign Language (ASL), hopefully clients are patient as her receptive skills are a little slow, having completed the Deaf Studies program at CSN in 2014. Additionally, she has received additional doctoral level education in the area of Special Education focusing on emotional and behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, and has also received training in BCBA (internship pending). This continual learning has supported her work with a variety of individuals, from children with selective mutism to individuals with disabilities, anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, and so on.
She believes that personal growth for the client is a continual process that often requires guidance and support. These, in addition to working with the client, builds a relationship that enables that growth to take place.
